πΏ Plant + Sip Classes (Public)
How do I get tickets to a class?
You can grab tickets right here on our website! Just pick your class, select the number of seats you need, add your guests' names, and you're all set.
Can I walk in without a ticket?
Unfortunately not β our classes fill up fast and we need to have everything prepped for each guest ahead of time. We'd recommend checking the class schedule and booking in advance. If you're not quite ready to commit to a date, our terrarium to-go kits are a great option to build from home!
Can I bring food and drinks?
Yes! We're BYOB (21+) and snacks are always welcome. Full meals are a little hard to pull off while you're elbow-deep in soil, so we'd suggest hitting up a local spot before or after β we can point you in the right direction.
How long do classes run?
90 minutes.
What's included with my ticket?
Everything you need β the vessel, your plant choice, soil, and decor. Just show up ready to build.
Can I give a class as a gift?
Absolutely! You can purchase a gift card here and let the recipient pick their own date and class.
Do enclosed terrariums really need bugs?
We get it β bugs aren't everyone's thing! But for our enclosed terrariums, they're actually essential. They help keep the little ecosystem inside healthy and balanced. Over time they settle into the layers, and honestly, you kind of stop thinking about them.
π Private Classes
How do I book a private class?
Head to our private class page, read through the details, and fill out an inquiry form. We'll take it from there! Private classes need to be booked at least 30 days in advance.
What are my class options?
You can choose between an open or closed terrarium experience. Classes are $49 per person plus a one-time $75 private class fee. All materials and a Spotted Leaf instructor are included.
How many people can attend?
We require a minimum of 12 guests and can fit up to 20 in our greenhouse room.
What time should guests arrive?
Doors open 30 minutes before your class start time β please share this with your guests ahead of time and encourage everyone to arrive during that window. Classes begin promptly at the scheduled start time, and we're not able to delay for late arrivals. With only 90 minutes to build, every minute counts!
Can we bring food and drinks?
Yes β we're BYOB (21+) and wine glasses are provided! Snacks like fruit, chips, and cookies are totally welcome. We do ask that guests skip large spreads like charcuterie boards or full platters β table space is used for building throughout the class and there are only a couple of short snack breaks, so big setups tend to go untouched and get in the way of the workspace.
Can we decorate the space?
Small balloon bundles and simple touches are totally fine! We just ask that guests leave large dΓ©cor at home β no confetti, balloon arches, or oversized displays please.
How does payment work?
We settle the balance at the end of the event based on your final guest count ($49/person + the one-time $75 fee). We accept cash, card, or check at the front register. Please note that going past the 90-minute class window may be subject to additional fees.
Where should guests park?
There's metered street parking nearby, but we recommend the free parking lot/garage directly behind our building β it's open to all Spotted Leaf guests.
Can you accommodate last-minute requests?
We can try! If your event falls on a weekday afternoon during a non-peak time, reach out and we'll do our best. Evening slots and weekend times aren't something we're able to accommodate last minute.
How far in advance should I book?
At least 30 days out β our calendar fills up quickly, so the sooner the better.
ποΈ Shopping & Orders
How often do you restock?
We restock with new and popular plants on a weekly basis. Following us on Instagram is the best way to stay in the loop on upcoming restocks.
Can I order online and pick up in store?
For sure! Just select "pickup" at checkout and we'll set it aside for you.
Do you ship?
Yes! We ship plants and pots under 8" to 48 states. We're not able to ship to Alaska or Hawaii.
Is your website inventory accurate?
We do our best to keep it current! On the rare occasion something's out of stock after you've ordered, we'll reach out and refund you right away.
Is the shop open during classes?
Always. Our retail space stays open even when classes are in session.
Do you sell soil?
We do! We make our own in-house β both a tropical mix and an arid (desert) mix. Come grab a bag anytime.
πͺ΄ Repotting
Do you repot plants?
We offer complimentary repotting for any plant purchased at Spotted Leaf, by appointment. Head to our appointment page to schedule!
How do I know if my plant is from Spotted Leaf?
If you're not sure, we can look it up using your loyalty phone number. We can usually tell by looking at the plant too!
Can you repot my plant into a pot I already have?
If the plant is from our shop, yes! If you have a pot at home and want to pick a new plant to go in it, bring the pot in and we'll make it work.
Can you repot plants I bought somewhere else?
This is something we used to do occasionally, but we're no longer able to offer it. We want to make sure we can give full attention to our own plants and keep things healthy in the shop. That said, we're always happy to give advice if your plant needs some help β just email us at plant@spottedleaf.co.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes β all repotting is by appointment only. You can schedule on our website.
π± Plant Care
I lost my care card β what do I do?
No worries! You can find a digital copy under the Resources tab on our website.
My plant has pests. Help!
Pests happen β we've got you. We carry neem oil and prevention powder in the shop, and those take care of most situations. For anything more complex, send us photos and details at plant@spottedleaf.co and we'll help you figure it out.
How do I know when it's time to repot?
Repotting too early can actually stress your plant, so it's worth waiting for the right signs. Look for: stunted growth, roots circling the bottom or poking out of drainage holes, soil pulling away from the pot's edges, or the plant just seeming like it's outgrown its space. Still unsure? Send us a photo at plant@spottedleaf.co.
Something seems off with my plant. Can you help?
Always. Send us photos and details at plant@spottedleaf.co and we'll do our best to help.
π Misc
Should I join the loyalty program?
Yes! Every purchase earns you leaves, which you can cash in for free plants. Just enter your phone number at checkout to get started.
How do I stay in the loop?
Instagram is the best place for real-time updates β restocks, new classes, events, and all the good stuff. You can also sign up for our email list to stay in the know.
Can I request a specific plant?
Absolutely β send your requests to plant@spottedleaf.co and we'll keep an eye out.
Are you hiring?
We're not currently hiring, but thank you for your interest in Spotted Leaf!
